Objectives:
1. Students will demonstrate their knowledge of Unit V concepts and skills.
2. Students will explore the nature of covalent bonding and covalent compounds.
3. Students will compare and contrast ionic and covalent compounds.
Warm-Up:
Predict the formula of an ionic compound that would be formed from Aluminum and Bromine.
(hint 1- start with the charges of the ions that each element forms based on their number of valence electrons)
(hint 2- all compounds must be NEUTRAL so combine them in a ratio that gives an overall charge of zero)
